Hello! I am a writer and journalist who covers national affairs. I previously worked as a senior reporter at HuffPost, where I wrote for Highline, and as a staff reporter for Mother Jones. My work has also appeared in The New York Times Sunday Review, The Atlantic (online), Marie Claire, ELLE.com, and Insider. I am a two-time Livingston Awards finalist and was awarded a Writers Guild Award for a story I co-wrote about police officer domestic abuse. You may read some of my journalism here, here, and here.
I recently completed an M.F.A. in fiction at the University of Wyoming and am a reader for American Short Fiction. I attended the 2021 Tin House summer workshop and Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. My fiction is forthcoming in Ploughshares and has appeared in Passages North, Cheap Pop, Hobart, Guernica, and CutBank Literary Magazine. I grew up in Bozeman, Montana, which I wrote about here.
