Hello! I am a writer and journalist who covers national affairs. I previously worked as a senior reporter at HuffPost, where I wrote for Highline, and as a staff reporter for Mother Jones. My work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Marie Claire, ELLE.com and Insider. I am a two-time Livingston Awards finalist for coverage of youth in adult prisons and jail deaths. I won a Writers Guild Award for a story I co-wrote about police officer domestic abuse. You may check out some of my journalism here, here and here.
I am completing an M.F.A. in fiction at the University of Wyoming, and my fiction is represented by Sarah Manning of the Bent Agency. I attended the 2020 summer Tin House workshop and my fiction has recently appeared in Cheap Pop and is forthcoming in Hobart and CutBank Literary Magazine. I grew up in Bozeman, Montana, which I wrote about here.
