Hello! I am a writer and journalist living in Austin, Texas. I previously worked as a senior reporter at HuffPost, where I wrote for Highline, and as a staff reporter for Mother Jones. My work has also appeared in The New York Times Sunday Review, the LA Times, POLITICO Magazine, The Atlantic (online), Marie Claire, Outside, ELLE.com, and Insider. I am a two-time Livingston Awards finalist and was awarded a Writers Guild Award for a story I co-wrote about police officer domestic abuse. You may read some of my journalism here, here, and here.
I completed an M.F.A. in fiction at the University of Wyoming and am an assistant editor for American Short Fiction. I attended the 2021 Tin House summer workshop and Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. My fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, Guernica, Passages North, and CutBank Literary Magazine. I grew up in Bozeman, Montana, which I wrote about here.
